Linda Robson, 68, has revealed the terrifying ordeal that nearly cost her life earlier this year. The beloved Loose Women star spent ten days in intensive care following major surgery on her pancreas, admitting she was “petrified” as doctors fought to save her.
The health scare came after gallstones caused severe damage to her pancreas, with two tumours discovered in particularly difficult positions. “I had to have most of my pancreas removed,” Linda explained, adding that she even required a brain scan during the ordeal. “I thought I was going to die.”
Throughout the crisis, Linda credits her family and friends for their unwavering support. “Seeing my kids’ faces got me through it. They were at the hospital all the time. They’ve been amazing,” she shared with The Sun.
This is far from the first challenge Linda has faced. The Birds of a Feather actress has been candid about her struggles with depression, OCD, and alcohol dependency, leading to three stints in rehab. Reflecting on those darker times, she revealed, “My children were my carers when I was mentally ill. There was a point when I got so low I couldn’t be left alone.”
Linda has also remained a steadfast friend to fellow actress Pauline Quirke, who was diagnosed with dementia in 2021. Despite the changes, Linda continues to visit and support her long-term friend. “We met up about three or four weeks ago at a restaurant. She was just giggling and really enjoying it. I left there happy because she was happy,” she said.
Having faced both mental and physical battles, Linda’s story is one of resilience, love, and the power of family and friendship. Her candid reflections remind fans that even celebrities endure terrifying, life-altering moments—and that support from loved ones can make all the difference.
