Emmerdale‘s latest villain, Dr Caitlin Todd, is expected to leave the village as her storyline with Charity Dingle comes to a harrowing twist, with star Caroline Harker reportedly set to exit the soap after these scenes air.
Dr Todd has been the soap’s main antagonist for medical student Jacob Sugden, who’s been on the receiving end of nasty workplace harassment and bullying at the hands of his boss. Meanwhile, Todd has also been blackmailing Charity after she discovered that the baby the Woolpack boss carried for Sarah and Jacob was, in fact, the result of an affair with Ross Burton.
After Todd demanded £100,000 to keep quiet about baby Leyla’s paternity, it has been revealed that the villain will sexually assault Charity in a new issue-based storyline which starts airing this Sunday (7 June).
As the new story unfolds, it appears that Dr Todd’s villainous arc comes with a shelf life as The Sun reported Harker will depart the soap, though it isn’t yet clear when the actor will be filming her last scenes.
This new, horrifying development follows Charity’s attempts to brush off Todd’s blackmailing. When the pub landlady dares Todd to tell Sarah the truth about her daughter, she hopes the doctor will leave her alone.
