Emmerdale will air a shocking revelation next week, when Kammy Hadiq’s sad living situation comes to light. Viewers will discover that the charming mechanic is, in fact, homeless and has been sleeping on Emmerdale Farm.
The storyline, which explores hidden homelessness, will begin on Monday as Belle Dingle brings up Kammy’s family, in an attempt to learn more about the man she is dating. However, Kammy’s reluctance to open up about his loved ones leaves her feeling dejected and confused.
When Belle directly asks to meet his family, Kammy once again shuts down the idea. But the reason for his secretive behaviour is later explained and he eventually comes clean about sleeping rough.
Speaking about the revelation, Shebz Miah, who plays Kammy, said that there will be “consequences” for the couple, hinting that it won’t be “a smooth ride for them”.
“There does come a turning point. I think when Kammy realises he is backed into the corner and he’s got no way out, I think he does submit, which we will see when it comes out later on. The stakes are very high for him, but we’ll find out later on, I guess,” he said.
The actor explained Kammy’s strong feelings for Belle, describing their connection as “really genuine”, which allows him to “just [confess] everything” to her.
“And it is traumatic for him, because we do talk about things that have happened previously. However, he’s doing it because deep down, he genuinely has submitted to Belle and feels that he may as well address it now.”
Miah also teased a “happy ending” for the pair after Kammy’s secret is finally revealed.
“There is a somewhat happy ending for both of them. So yeah, I think they both balance each other out so far, and it’s an unexpected duo. But I think it is working so far!” he added.
