The Princess Royal, 75, sported a 45-year-old hat as she attended the June 6 wedding of her son, Peter Phillips, to Harriet Sperling at All Saints’ Church in Kemble, England.

King Charles’ sister wore a yellow hat with a tie accent that royal watchers identified as a true throwback, as it appeared to be the same accessory she sported for another special event in 1981.

That July, Princess Anne wore the yellow headtopper to the christening of her daughter, Zara.

For both occasions, the Princess Royal wore the hat with yellow outfits. She paired it with a short-sleeved yellow dress in 1981 and repeated the same color scheme for her son’s nuptials on Saturday, adding navy gloves, purse and umbrella in the rainy weather.

Princess Anne regularly tops the lists as the “hardest-working member” of the British royal family by count of official engagements, and she seems to apply the same philosophy to her wardrobe.

The royal has previously worn items like coats, dresses and suits from years ago, making sustainable fashion statements and perhaps inspiring younger family members like Kate Middleton to do the same.

Princess Anne was the proud mother of the groom over the weekend when her entrepreneur son Peter, 48, married his nurse fiancée Harriet, 45, in a royal family wedding.

The marriage was the second for both the bride and groom, and they tied the knot about two years after they were first romantically linked. Peter and Harriet sparked relationship rumors when they attended the Badminton Horse Trials together in May 2024 and announced their engagement in August 2025.

The couple married in the Cotswolds in a wedding attended by King Charles, Queen Camilla, the Princess Royal, her first husband, Peter and Zara’s father, Captain Mark Phillips, Prince William, Kate Middleton and more members of the royal family.

The celebration was a family affair as Peter’s teen daughters, Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14, and Harriet’s daughter, Georgina, 13, all acted as bridesmaids on the big day and carried Harriet’s train at the church ceremony.

Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, then threw a reception at Gatcombe Park, their nearby Gloucestershire home, welcoming family and close friends to celebrate the newlyweds.
