Reality television has been very popular amongst viewers for many years and during the course, The Bold and the Beautiful has had its fair share of guest stars such as Big Brother’s Rachel Reilly and Jeff Schroeder and Survivor’s Malcolm Freberg and Cirie Fields. Now, our sister site, Variety, has learned exclusively that Bell-Phillip Television Productions is partnering with The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives executive producer Jeff Jenkins to develop a new reality competition series.
In The Bold and the Unscripted, a group of reality TV star contestants, all who want to pursue a career in acting, will compete on the CBS soap’s actual studio lot and sound stages for weekly opportunities to secure speaking roles and guest spots alongside the Forresters, Logans and Spencers — and whoever comes out on top as the winner will land a recurring role on the soap.
This concept may sound familiar to longtime fans who watched I Wanna Be a Soap Star, which ran for four seasons from 2004 to 2007. The show brought winners Mykel Shannon Jenkins to General Hospital as Officer Byron Murphy, the late Alec Musser to All My Children as Del Henry, Mikey Jerome to One Life to Live as Ted Osbourne and Ashlee Holland to Days of Our Lives as Crystal Miller — plus, Port Charles’ Britt, Kelly Thiebaud, competed in the first season and… look at her now, she’s a Daytime Emmy Award winner!

We’ll be sure to keep fans posted as more details are released.
