Tess Daly has been spotted in New York with her wedding ring still firmly on her finger despite having split from her husband Vernon Kay, as she spends time with their daughter

Tess Daly may be single now, but she’s still wearing her wedding ring. The former Strictly Come Dancing presenter was spotted visiting her daughter Phoebe in New York and still had her ring on her finger, despite having announced her split from husband Vernon Kay last month.
Tess posted a series of photos from the trip to Instagram, with the caption: “NYC with my best girls”. In most of the pics, she kept her hands hidden but in another series of posts, these ones captioned with “Over and out NYC”, her left hand was on display as she stood outside NBC studios.
In the photo, she wore an all white outfit, and pointed at the NBC sign. Her left hand was left hanging loosely by her side, with the ring on her finger.
This comes after she and Vernon announced their separation in a shock joint statement to Instagram in May. They had been married for 22 years and have two daughters together, Phoebe and Amber.
In their statement, they said: “After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably.”
They insisted that their decision was “not an easy choice” but came “from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what’s best for both of us”.
The pair assured fans that they would “remain great friend” and be “fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents”, which is their top priority. Tess and Vernon also asked for privacy, but made it clear that “no other parties were involved” in their decision to split.
Despite their split, they appear to still be friends. Vernon commented on Tess’ post, saying: “What a few days [heart emoji] [fire emoji]”. The two were also spotted at Pub in the Park, drinking with their friends and dancing to Craig David.
According to The Sun, Vernon was seen wearing his wedding ring as the pair danced away to Craig David, even though they’d announced their separation a couple of weeks prior. But Tess has also been seen wearing her ring too.
This also comes as more change is underway for Tess. She is best known for hosting Strictly Come Dancing, but will not host this year. She and her former co-host Claudia Winkleman decided to step down at the end of the last season, with their final episode airing on Christmas Day.
