Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s sweet carriage moment – and 14 unseen Trooping the Colour royal photos

Today marks one of the most important dates in the royal calendar: Trooping the Colour. For those uninitiated, it’s also known as the Sovereign’s official birthday and is celebrated with the ceremony of the King’s Birthday Parade. For over 260 years, the royal family — plus over 1400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians — have come together in London to put on an epic military display.
Not to mention creating iconic Buckingham Palace balcony shots as the most senior royals watch the flypast. (We will forever be obsessed with Prince Louis’ antics last year, from him hilariously wiping his nose in front of millions, to him smiling and waving at the crowds while none of the other royals do.)
But while the big day may all be in the name of King Charles, this year, some of the younger royals seem to have taken the attention from the monarch. Yep, we’re talking about the young Wales’s: Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight.
The future king and his siblings were photographed early into the event, arriving in carriages fit for, well, royals. George and Charlotte seemed to share a sweet brother-sister moment as they sat next to each other and smiled at the onlookers while cheeky Louis took a seat next to his mother, Kate Middleton.

Louis seemed to be on his best behaviour. Here’s hoping he brings his cheeky humour to the balcony later.

Blink and you’ll miss Prince William

Where was Prince William when his family were riding in the carriage, you ask? Well, he’s actually on the left in this photo in full military gear. This is because of his role as Colonel of the Welsh Guards. He wore the regiment’s ceremonial uniform, a reflection of his position as Prince of Wales.
