Scarlett Moffatt has opened up about her second pregnancy and teased that her baby boy’s name could have a football-inspired twist, following England’s winning start to the World Cup 2026 campaign
Scarlett Moffatt has hinted that her baby name might carry a footballing connection following England’s promising World Cup opener on Wednesday.
The I’m A Celebrity champion is expecting her second child with fiancé Scott Dobinson, having shared her pregnancy news earlier this year. The couple already have son Jude and have recently revealed they’re welcoming another little boy into the family.
Chatting to the Mirror about watching the World Cup from her living room, courtesy of her campaign with free streaming platform Freely – after the team’s victory over Croatia – the 35-year-old discussed life with her toddler and how preparations for the new arrival are progressing.
With a son called Jude – after Jude Law, not the England midfielder – we couldn’t help but ask whether there was a “Harry” on the cards, taking inspiration from captain Harry Kane. She laughed: “We’ve got three names picked, and one of them actually is a football name..
“One of the names we had to cancel out because Jude couldn’t pronounce it properly. I was like, ‘No, that’ll get on my nerves, that’s a sign.’ But we keep trying to use it in different situations to see which one feels natural.
“Jude is actually named after Jude Law, however, Jude Bellingham is a good namesake,” she laughed. “I really think Jude Bellingham is the standout! I also feel like what this is going to incur is lots of other kids called Jude, so Jude will be little Jude or tall Jude [in future school classes].”
Following the start of the World Cup last week, football enthusiast Scarlett admitted that her family’s viewing habits have shifted somewhat this year.
Discussing whether her little one could stay awake beyond bedtime to watch his namesake – who netted the team’s third goal – she explained: “No, because he’s three, we can just easily watch it on catch up and he doesn’t realise it was on the night before, so we can watch the highlights, and he can feel involved.
“If he was older, I probably would [let him] because it’s history, we’re literally watching history.. I remember watching matches when I was a kid, and my dad throwing us up in the air and getting excited. It’s nice to have those memories.”
Scarlett initially encountered former policeman Scott more than ten years ago, though their romantic journey didn’t begin until a fortuitous reunion years afterwards. They officially became a couple in 2019 and have remained devoted to each other since.
The pair welcomed their son Jude in 2023, before announcing their engagement towards the close of that year.
After returning from the South African jungle following her stint on I’m A Celebrity All-Stars, the television personality shared the joyful news of their second baby with a heartwarming Instagram post in April.
Reflecting on her current pregnancy experience, she opened up about the increased challenges she’s faced while expecting her second child. The television favourite revealed: “The first pregnancy with Jude, I honestly felt like, ‘Gosh, I don’t even know why people moan about this!’ I had no symptoms, honestly, it was the best time ever. My skin had never been better, everywhere I went, people would give us compliments. It was unbelievable. I could eat loads of food at buffets and be like, it’s not bloat, it’s a baby. I was living my best life.
“This time around, I’ve been surviving rather than thriving. It has been hard work. I don’t know if it’s because I’m older or just because my body is like, ‘We’ve done this before, you had it too easy last time’. I was filming, then running off and having a mini vom, quick mint spray, to come back on filming..
“This time around has been a bit hard, so I apologise to all mothers out there. I was like, ‘It’s not that bad!’ It is horrific. I take it all back!”.
