The beloved character began her living nightmare when she chose to not tell anyone about being pregnant with Ross Barton’s (Michael Parr) child. At the time, Charity had agreed to be Sarah and Jacob Sugden’s (Katie Hill and Joe-Warren Plant) surrogate, but made a careless decision by sleeping with Ross after an argument with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).
Charity spent the entire pregnancy keeping her secret from almost everyone. Ross discovered the truth and so did Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), and they both urged Charity to tell Sarah and Jacob, but she couldn’t bring herself to break their hearts.
This meant that when Charity gave birth to the little girl, Sarah and Jacob were overjoyed to welcome the tot into their lives and called her Leyla, after Jacob’s late mum.

While Jacob and Sarah relished in the wonder of becoming new parents, Charity believed that her ordeal was finally over.
Then Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) arrived.
In the middle of bullying Jacob at work, a massive opportunity landed in Caitlin’s lap when she discovered that Leyla’s blood group doesn’t match Jacob’s, so they cannot be related.
The wicked woman told Charity to get Jacob to drop his HR complaint against her, or she’d reveal her secret about Leyla.
Charity did this, but Doctor Todd didn’t stop there.
She asked her for £10k to keep quiet about Leyla’s parentage, but increased the amount to £100k after finding out that Charity had lied about her role at the Woolpack.
Charity turned to Kim Tate (Claire King) for help and asked her to buy her shares in the pub, aware she’d be able to get the money on time.
There’s a massive problem at the start of next week though, as Kim rocks up and announces that she’ll no longer be the new pub co-owner.

At the end of her tether, Charity asks Kim for a loan, but it goes right over her head.
The conversation is overheard by Chas, who quickly discovers what Doctor Todd is doing to Charity.
They realise they do have one more option left though before admitting defeat. It’s a massive risk – rob the safe at Home Farm.
Thelma and Louise break into the grand house in this new video, but both of them are quite tipsy.
As Chas and Charity attempt to get into the safe, Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) arrives. It’s the early hours of the morning, and she’s arrived to deep clean the house while the residents are still asleep.

Lydia spots Chas and Charity and just as they go to hide behind the sofa, Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) heads down the stairs and wonders what is going on.
She covers for her relatives and sends Graham away. There’s no way Lydia is going to betray Kim and let Chas and Charity get into the safe, so how will the duo get themselves out of this one?
Will Lydia become the next person to discover Charty’s secret?
