ANDREW SCARBOROUGH FINALLY CLEARS UP THE CORRIEDALE CHAOS!-vp

Emmerdale star Andrew Scarborough has cleared up some of the confusion regarding the return of his character, Graham Foster. Upon his comeback in January, the character was involved with a person who would later appear on Coronation Street.

It was previously thought that Graham had been killed off in 2020, but he made a surprise return to the Dales as part of Corriedale, the one-off crossover event between the two ITV soaps that aired earlier this year.

In the special, Graham was seen transporting Jodie Ramsey, who subsequently escaped from his clutches. She has since caused chaos in Weatherfield on Corrie, with very little mention of Graham’s “contract” ever since.

Though it doesn’t seem likely that Graham and Jodie’s paths will cross again, Scarborough explained that his character never intended to kill his hostage, but was rather transporting her to a “bad” person.

“There’s been a bit of confusion – he wasn’t going to kill her. That wasn’t the job,” explained the actor. “He was taking her to somebody, then he realised this person was bad, so he let her go. He had no intention of killing her.”

“He was probably told a lot of bunkum. He thought this girl was bad. That was the insinuation,” added the star, who first played Graham in 2017. He continued by explaining that the unseen client, who is “powerful and rich”, is worse than Jodie.

Furthermore, Scarborough teased that more details about the situation would be revealed in the near future, sharing: “You do find out bits, and later on you’ll find out a bit more about the guys and who they were.”

“It was a good mechanism to get Graham back and cause a bit of intrigue. Hopefully it will resolve itself,” noted the actor, who admitted that he was “worried” about the nature of Graham’s comeback storyline.

While the arc involving Graham and Jodie is very much on the back burner for now, Graham is very much in the thick of the drama on Emmerdale, with the Dingles and the Tates continuing to feud over land.

He will also become involved in the plot that has seen Kyle Winchester become a serial arsonist after setting fire to the farm, with Graham soon to take the vulnerable teenager under his wing in light of his crimes.
