Sam Dingle (James Hooton) is keeping a secret from Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) in Emmerdale, but because it’s been going on for quite some time, she’s beginning to grow worried about what he’s up to.
The secret Sam is keeping is totally innocent and nothing to worry about. Over the past few weeks, he’s been having dance lessons from Ross Barton (Michael Parr) in an attempt to surprise ballroom and latin lover Lydia.
Lydia regularly attends dance classes, but rehearses with other men or women because Sam made it crystal clear that there is no way he’d be shaking his hips in front of everyone in the middle of a Cha Cha.
It’s all part of his plan though.

Unbeknownst to Lydia, Sam has been getting to grips with a basic two step thanks to Ross, who learnt how to dance to help him stay nimble on his feet in boxing matches.
They’ve been practicing in barns on Emmerdale Farm, and have also snuck into Lydia’s rehersals to see what she’s been up to.
However, because Sam is spending so much time doing this, and also lying to Lydia about where he goes, it’s starting to cause her concern.

In this new video, Sam and Ross are busy chatting all things dance when Lydia walks in. She’s annoyed with her husband, and it becomes apparent that Sam has missed Lydia’s request of them eating lunch together.
Sam shoots himself in the foot by telling Lydia that they can’t spend quality time together tomorrow either. He doesn’t tell her that it’s because he wants another lesson from Ross, so it leaves Lydia feeling a bit neglected.
A couple more days stands between now and Sam revealing his surprise, but unless he picks up on how Lydia has been feeling, the big reveal might fall as flat as Craig Revel Horwood giving a 1 on Strictly.
Is Sam’s grand plan going to even work?
