Judy Finnigan, 78, and her longtime husband Richard Madeley, 70, were spotted sharing laughs and strolling arm-in-arm after a chic lunch at London’s iconic Simpson’s in the Strand on Friday — a rare public moment for the TV legends who are fast approaching their 40th wedding anniversary this November.
The beloved duo, whose onscreen chemistry made them household names as hosts of This Morning for 13 unforgettable years, looked radiant and utterly in sync. Judy dazzled in a pink blazer layered over a matching blouse and dark trousers, accessorized with a pale pink handbag and a bold gold necklace. Meanwhile, Richard cut a dapper figure in a navy suit, crisp white shirt, and a burnt-orange tie, effortlessly complementing his wife’s chic ensemble.

The iconic TV couple, who hosted This Morning for 13-years, looked happier than ever as they strolled arm-in-arm following their meal
The couple, parents to daughter Chloe, 38, and son Jack, 40, as well as Judy’s twin sons Tom and Dan Henshaw from her first marriage, appeared blissfully content — their smiles and playful giggles hinting at the deep bond they’ve shared for decades.
Their love story began in the 1980s at ITV Granada Television, before either had finalized their past relationships. Judy, then married to journalist David Henshaw, was assigned as Richard’s “minder” on his first day — a quirky Granada tradition pairing newcomers with a guiding “parent.” Richard recalls the moment vividly: “I suddenly felt two hands on the back of my neck and heard, ‘I’m your mummy.’ I turned around and there she was — this stunning blonde.”
Their first kiss came later in a more private moment, after a long day filming promos in Blackpool. Alone in the back of a black cab on the drive back to Manchester, sparks flew in the darkness, setting the stage for a lifetime together.
Daughter Chloe, reflecting on her parents’ enduring bond, told Closer magazine in 2024: “The secret to their long marriage? Simply not getting divorced. They’ve faced struggles like any couple, but they stayed together. Honestly, they set a pretty gold standard — I hit the jackpot with them as parents.”
Now, nearly four decades later, Judy and Richard remain a shining example of love, laughter, and commitment — proving that some romances truly get better with age.
