Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) needs to think carefully about her moves in Emmerdale, because Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) is unhinged and doesn’t care about telling everyone baby Leyla isn’t Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) and Jacob Sugden’s (Joe-Warren Plant) child.
Doctor Todd told Charity a couple of days ago that in order to keep Leyla’s parentage a secret, she wants £100,000. Charity doesn’t have this money in her bank, and wondered how on earth she’d find it within the one-week deadline.
While she’s been stressing over this, Charity’s anger towards Caitlin has increased due to her developing relationship with Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick).
Vanessa currently believes she’s struck gold with Doctor Todd, and has no idea that she’s blackmailing Charity and previously made Jacob’s life a living hell.
In this evening’s episode, Vanessa was surprised when Caitlin suggested that they spend the weekend away in Sheffield.
She began to have small doubts about her new love interest when Charity got inside Vanessa’s head and told her to be careful around Doctor Todd.
Back at the bar, Vanessa told Caitlin that they should hold off with their weekend away, stating that she doesn’t want to rush their relationship.
Caitlin glanced over at Charity while this conversation was taking place, but there was no direct confirmation that she had worked out Vanessa was only saying this as a result of something her ex had said.
As Vanessa left, Doctor Todd took pleasure in telling Charity that their pub lunch would be on the house and if not, she could just take it off the money she owes.
Doctor Todd is a woman who absolutely doesn’t care who she hurts in her quest to get something she wants.
If she discovers that Vanessa is only pulling away from her because of something Charity said, could she put her money plan to the side and just reveal the secret about baby Leyla anyway?
Speaking of money, Charity invited Kim Tate (Claire King) over tonight and asked her to buy her shares in the pub. Kim was immediately suspicious, believing that Charity wouldn’t just randomly want to sell up unless she was in some sort of trouble.
To make the situation even worse, Kim didn’t even confirm if she would accept Charity’s offer.
If she can’t get the money in time, what will Charity do next?
