Emmerdale shares an update on Steph Miligan tonight, as viewers are warned not to expect her back in the village anytime soon.
As Ruby and Caleb’s absent daughter plays a key role in a new storyline, it seems that we shouldn’t get our hopes up for an in-person appearance.
When Ruby pays a visit to The Woolpack, she notes how much Caleb misses having Steph around.
Chas questions whether Steph will ever come back, but Ruby replies: “I doubt it. She’s all settled now. She’s got a new bloke. They’re off on holiday in Thailand. Don’t tell Caleb she’s there. She doesn’t want him to know – he worries!”
Steph was last seen in the village in August 2025, when she took an extended trip to Italy to get away from her troubles.
At the time, Steph had looked set to work things out with her on-off love interest Ross Barton, but she felt betrayed when she found out that he’d kept quiet about a one-night stand he had with Manpreet Sharma after they’d broken up.
In real life, Georgia Jay – who played Steph – went on maternity leave last year. Then in April this year, it was reported that she’d decided not to come back at the moment, preferring to concentrate on being a mum rather than returning to a full-time soap schedule.
