Emmerdale‘s Kerry Pollard faces another romantic disaster next week as her boyfriend Jai Sharma accuses her of being involved in a scam.
When word spreads that Jai’s son Archie Breckle may have sneakily conned Caleb Miligan, it doesn’t take long for the businessman to realise that Kerry could be implicated too.
A new storyline this week sees Archie use Artificial Intelligence to create a fake voice that sounds just like Caleb and Ruby’s absent daughter Steph.
The ‘AI Steph’ is so realistic that Archie manages to use it to pose as the real deal, asking Caleb for £5,000 to put towards a deposit on a flat in London.
Just as Archie celebrates and begins spending his ill-gotten gains, though, Kerry discovers what he’s been up to…
“Kerry is shocked when she stumbles across the ‘AI Steph’ that Archie has been using,” explains our Emmerdale source. “The timing for his criminal act isn’t ideal, as Kerry was supposed to be proving herself as a responsible role model while looking after him in Jai’s absence. But rather than dishing out a punishment, she has other plans…”
In next week’s scenes, Kerry and Archie become unlikely allies as they shamelessly use the ‘AI Steph’ to attempt another scam at Caleb’s expense.
The pair are caught out when Eric Pollard walks in and confronts them, leaving Kerry feeling terrible over the way she’s behaved.
“Eric is so ashamed of Kerry’s actions that he even considers calling the police,” continues our insider. “Kerry urges him not to, pointing out that Eric has carried out his fair share of dodgy schemes over the years and should let this one go.
“It seems that she’s caught Eric on a good day, as he urges Archie to delete all evidence from the laptop and hope he’s not caught.”
Later in the week, Ruby spots a clue to Kerry’s guilt, raising concerns that she might piece together the entire scam.
