Lewis Barton’s impromptu romantic trip with his boyfriend Vinny Dingle turns ugly on Emmerdale next week, when the café owner is kidnapped and bundled into a van by a masked assailant!
After a slight wobble over taking a last-minute trip with Vinny, Lewis decides to embrace the romance and heads to the airport. But his happiness is cut short by a perilous situation. Who has snatched Lewis from the village?
“Lewis’s life is normally coffees and cardigans, not kidnaps,” points out our Emmerdale insider. “A last-minute trip with Vinny made him anxious enough, so this capture will leave him terrified. Lewis has lived a fairly quiet life, as far as we know – so who’s out to get him?”
This shocking ordeal comes just as Lewis and Vinny make plans for a loved-up getaway together. With the sun shining, Vinny decides to surprise his boyfriend with a spontaneous trip to Madeira. However, Lewis struggles to cope with the impromptu plans and his anxiety causes him to pull out of the holiday…
Despite Vinny’s disappointment, Lewis urges him to go on a holiday alone, but it isn’t an easy decision for him make. Wishing he could ignore his worries and go on the holiday anyway, Lewis confides his feelings in big brother Ross.
Ross has all the right words for Lewis and eventually Lewis decides he will join Vinny on the holiday after all. But as he makes a mad dash to catch Vinny up, rushing out to his taxi with a suitcase in hand, Lewis is shocked when a van screeches to a halt next to him…
