Emmerdale aired a huge cliffhanger as Dawn Fletcher attempted to escape the village. But with Joe Tate and Graham Foster already catching wind of her plans, it remains to be seen if she’ll make it out.
Dawn has been working with Moira Dingle to plot Joe’s downfall, following his various schemes and instances of blackmail. Joe, however, learned of his partner’s plans, and has been biding his time with Graham’s help.
Wednesday’s (20 May) episode of the ITV soap saw Dawn and Joe sleep together, with today’s (21 May) instalment seeing the pair share a kiss in the morning. Joe expressed belief that Dawn had changed, but Graham urged him to stick to the plan.
Joe said he would like Dawn stay with him out of love rather than fear, though Graham stressed that any inaction would give him a bunch of regrets. They quibbled about the nature of moral compasses, with Joe quipping that Graham broke his long ago.
Dawn headed to former partner Billy, and apologised for some of her mistakes in the past. He questioned why she was saying this now, and she explained that the full picture would become apparent soon.
Dawn then spoke with Moira, and said that she saw a different side to Joe the previous night. Moira, like Graham did with Joe, said that she needed to stick to their plan, and said that Joe was merely digging his “claws” in.
Dawn explained that she couldn’t “trust” herself around Joe, and that she will always struggle to resist him. She maintained that she needed to leave the village for good, but asked Moira to distract the Tates before she departed.
