Emmerdale‘s Charity Dingle cooks up her most hare-brained scheme yet next week – when she teams up with Chas to rob Home Farm.
It looks like it’s game over for Charity when Kim Tate pulls out of the Woolpack deal that Charity was banking on to silence Dr Todd, who’s blackmailing her.
Desperate Charity knows that time is not on her side, so she’s completely floored when Kim nixes their agreement, leaving her without the means to pay off her extortionist.
However, as she finally confides in Chas about what she’s up against, Charity realises there’s one other option – if Kim won’t buy the pub, they’ll steal her money instead…
“It’s a bonkers plan fraught with danger, but Charity has run out of sensible options,” explains our Emmerdale insider. “Chas can’t believe her ears when she finds out that Charity is being blackmailed and that Dr Todd holds the power to destroy their family forever.
“Everything is at stake, so Chas and Charity agree that they’ll rob Home Farm together.”
To be fair to Charity, she does try to get the cash from Kim in an upfront way before resorting to theft. When Kim tells her the Woolpack deal is off, after rightly guessing that something dodgy is going on, Charity begs her for a loan.
Unfortunately for her, Kim is in no mood to do a Dingle a favour, particularly one that reeks of desperation.
Having humiliated herself several times during negotiations, Charity is left shrieking at departing Kim, with no shred of dignity left. However, robbing Home Farm is only going to throw petrol on the fire in the war between the Dingles and the Tates.
“Charity is taking a huge risk and one that’s likely to blow up in her face either way,” warns our spy. “Dr Todd is relishing the power she wields over Charity and her family, and it would be even sweeter if she could destroy Jacob’s life in the process.
“In fact, when Charity gives her some money as a down payment, she gives her a new deadline and promises that if Charity can’t meet it, she’s going public with the secret of Leyla’s parentage.”
As the other Dingles prepare for Sarah’s 21st birthday party, they are blissfully unaware of the unexploded bomb that could go off – as wicked Todd announces that’s when she plans to hit the detonator! Will Charity’s mad plan work?
