Emmerdale‘s Graham Foster becomes determined to turn Kyle Winchester’s life around next week, but will he expose the teen as the secret arsonist?
After discovering Kyle was the farm firestarter, Graham made it his mission to steer the lad back on the right path. But will he force him to confess that he was behind the destruction?
“Graham sees himself in young Kyle,” explains our Emmerdale spy. “Much like how Graham took troubled Joe Tate under his wing, he wants to do the same with Kyle. Trouble is, Cain isn’t Graham’s number one fan…”
Rebellious Kyle lashed out at his dad’s lack of attention by setting fire to Emmerdale Farm. Graham has taken pity on the teen, convinced he can sort his life out – but has also made it clear that this should start with owning up!
With Kyle still unable to talk to his dad, but wishing they could spend more time together, Graham tries to persuade him to tell Cain the truth about how he feels.
As Cain isn’t a reliable presence in his life at the moment, Kyle is touched when Graham steps up to be his father figure and gives him one of his old Army watches.
Military-trained Graham wants Kyle to turn his life around, so signs him up for the cadets.
The gift of the watch is a symbol of how much Graham cares. But will this be enough encouragement to stop Kyle going off the rails?
Andrew Scarborough, who plays Graham, recently told us that his character has pure intentions in trying to change Kyle’s life.
“Graham does have a huge respect for Cain, despite their on-and-off tensions,” Andrew explained.
“I would hope that it doesn’t look like Graham’s trying to out-manoeuvre or be Machiavellian. I don’t think that’s the side to him here. I don’t think he plays it that way.
“Graham is fairer than that and he wouldn’t do that to Kyle either. So, he’s not playing mind games. I think it’s genuine care. He wants to be paternal and put Kyle on the right track.”
